Reggae’s Empress set to empower revellers
In the world of reggae royalty, Askala Selassie is the uncrowned Empress.
The singer/songwriter will be performing tracks from her debut album, Warrior Empress, at Swindon’s fifth Reggae Garden.
Amidst the trees in the Old Town Bowl, Town Gardens in Quarry Road, on Saturday, September 10, Askala will unleash the lioness as she mashes up both reggae and dub tunes.
She learned from the masters as she was recruited at 21-years-old to be one of the backing singers for The Wailers band. She still holds the title of the youngest Wailing sister.
